Rose-Hulman offers one of the best engineering degrees in the country. In my time at rose I have had numerous classes and projects which has allowed me to progress my education in the field of engineering. In addition to this, I have taken part in clubs in my free time so I can continue to explore my passion for engineering.

For the final project of my freshman Graphical Communications class, we were tasked to use our skills in SolidWorks to create anything we wanted, as long as it was cool. For the project I choose to 3D model my Nikon D810. It turned out extremely well, with even having a detachable lense.

In my introduction to design class our final project was to design a solar panel tracking system. Our group designed a mechanism that used a counterweight to turn a complex geartrain that would rotate the solar panel slowly throughout the day. In order to accomplish this task, we needed a brake to slowdown the counterweight as it fell throughout the day. I had to research all the physics behind how a brake works in order to calculate all the physics to make this system. We also had to sort through data about the sun cycles in the region and use that data to calculate specific criteria we would need to use in our project.

This project required me to take apart a quartz clocks, study it, remake it, and understand it. After taking it apart, I had to study each part of the clock to understand what purpose it serves, and how it interacts with each other individual part. I had to use SolidWorks to make all the parts of the clock and build it within the software to show that I understood the inner mechanisms of the quartz clock.

In the fall quarter of my year, I took part in start up weekend, for my groups project we came up with the idea of a portable projector that would serve the purpose of a monitor/tv for those who travel for work, have limited dorm/home space, and can't afford a tv and a monitor. We conducted customer research to see if our product would be wanted and we had little information but enough data so when we bootstrapped our data we more than enough people saying they would buy it for the price we were looking to sell it. In the end after presenting, it to actual entrepreneur we placed fourth in the competition.

I'm a part of Team Rose Motorsports here at Rose; in this club I get to gain hands on experience working on cars. In this club we have 3 cars, a BMW 3 series with a corvette engine, a Porsche with a Mazda rotary engine, and a mustang fox body that is built for drag racing. I have helped take out and rebuild the engine on the BMW, rebuild the transmission and do a complete clutch replacement.

In the summer of 2023, I spent the summer down at Missouri S&T working alongside graduate students and professors on a NASA Big Idea Challenge. For our project we were tasked with creating a way to turn moon soil into usable aluminum.

In the summer of 2025, I was an intern at Lavner education in St. Louis. Over the course of the summer, I taught multiple stem camps to kids. The courses ranged from 3D animation in blender, 3D printing, to Vex Robotics. I had to manage entire classrooms on my own and present all the topics in professional and simple ways so that the kids could understand what they were being taught.
