Cool Things Project

For my cool things project I choose to follow my passion for photography and 3D model my Nikon D810. This project took a lot of time and a lot of attention to detail, in SolidWorks this is a 1 to 1 scale of my camera in real life. One of the hardest parts of this project was carefully measuring the very complicated angles, I ended up having to use advanced math to calculate the curvature on some of the sides of the camera.

For the project we had to use almost every tool in SolidWorks to show our knowledge and our ability to use the software. So, one of the special things I did to my project was the Lense is actually a sperate part and can be removed the same way you would in real life with the lock system. It ended up turning out super nice and I was super proud my work because it was countless hours of work.

I learned a lot through this project, the main thing being of course time management. I had to spend a lot of time on this project, and I had to work around all my other schoolwork. So managing my time was key, but in the end after some late nights the finished product turned out great. It wasn't perfect and was missing some buttons and very small details. This was my second most valuable lesson, that you don't need to be perfect to be good.
